The site is placed close to an important artery of the city (Gh Sincai Boulevard) withdrawn from it and in connection with other buildings of Titu Maiorescu University.
There were no existing buildings on the site, surrounded by tall and monotonous 8-storey blocks.
The purpose of the intervention was to create a new and modern building with educational function, with laboratories and dedicated spaces for the students and their training in the field of pharmacy. In the same time a new presence in the area, that brings a minimalist architectural solution and urban expression adapted to the public function and completing the existing buildings of the University.
Placed in an urban area with repetitive and monotonous buildings (blocks GF + 8), the project is intended as a minimalist architectural solution adapted to the public function of higher education – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Titu Maiorescu University.
The concept of the building is inspired from the effervescence of the chemical reactions and materialized in the expression of the façade, through the Brownian arrangement of the openings.
The building has a basement, ground floor and 3 floors, it includes functions of laboratories, offices, dressing rooms, classrooms, annex spaces, staircase, etc. with a total built area of 2290 sqm.
The project is aimed to individualize and highlight the volume of the building in dialogue with the overall image of the surrounding area, and the bright, optimistic interiors, created through coloring and finishing, dedicated to young people, and to the educational function.
The aim of the project was achieved. The building is modern and fit for contemporary needs, with quality finishings and vibrant atmosphere, individuality and representative, both to the interior and exterior.
